Differences between blood and lymph

S.N. Blood Lymph
1. It is a fluid connective tissue which is red in color. It is a colorless fluid connective tissue.
2. It is pumped from the heart and flows through the arteries, capillaries and veins and finally returns to the heart. It flows from the tissue spaces through the lymphatic capillaries and vessels and finally enters the subclavian veins.
3. It consists of plasma and different blood cells like erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets. It consists of plasma and leukocytes only.
4. Comaparatively, it contains more plasma proteins and more calcium and phosphorus. It contains lesser plasma proteins and lesser calcium and phosphorus.
5. It has haemoglobin in RBC, hence red in color. It lacks haemoglobin and is hence colorless.
6. Its flow is fairly rapid or fast. Its flow is very slow.
7. It mainly transports materials from heart to different body parts. It mainly conveys materials from tissue cells into blood.
